While talking to a friend of mine who teaches in Ohio, I found yet another reason that can be added to the “10 ways to get fired from your teaching job” list. This story comes out of Bellefontaine, Ohio and involves a 4th grade teacher named Amber Carter who was sent on administrative leave after being arrested for prostitution. She reportedly used Craig’s List to solicit herself to her clients. The most unbelievable part about this story is that not only did she use the school’s computer to set up this meeting, she also took a half day sick leave to allow herself to meet with this client during the school day. Little did she know that the person she was meeting with was a police officer who had recieved an anonymous tip. She has been charged with misdemeanor prostitution as well as a felony count of unauthorized use of property.
Moral of the story… if you so choose to work part time soliciting yourself for sex, do not use the schools computer to set up the appointment, or take a sick day in order to meet with your clients!
