Logic vs. "Common Sense" as seen through "The Big Bang Theory"
This is a clip I found that I thought relates to the Dewey reading and the idea that many who are full of logic, lack the idea of "common sense." In this clip one of the scientists from the show who is socially awkward believes he found an algorithm to making friends. Enjoy!

I love The Big Bang Theory! Great clip, Amy. I see you're taking after Dr. Pope by tying TV/movies with the Dewey reading! This is a great example. I know we're talking law here, but when it comes to making ethical decisions as teachers, we'll have to use more than logic to make good choices. Justice isn't truly possible when one relies upon logic alone and ignores the internal moral compass.
