Presentations from last class

I really enjoyed the presentations that were presented over the past couple of weeks. It was interesting to see how court cases were decided and how many actually went against the teacher or students. I wish that we had been able to spend more time on discussion for the IEP presentation because I am still confused by it...As an art teacher would I have to fill one out??? I think as class we were all so interested in the presentations so we asked a lot of questions and there was a lot of discussion, which was good. I enjoyed them...thanks to everyone who presented last week.

Merrissa, the job of an art teacher and P.E. teacher are similar in the sense they would both plan an assessment for record if the child is falling behind, or struggling because of disability. These records are kept by you and then can be very influential in the IEP process. All assessments are taken into account by the IEP professional team, including teachers, parents and special needs teachers, then a IEP is put together best suited for the individual. In conclusion, you personally do not have to create and IEP, however, you can decide how influential you want to be in the process.

Thanks Mark! I really appreciate you commenting on my blog. I was very confused about the IEP and that cleared up some questions. Thanks!
