I just watched the video, there are a lot of interesting things that went on. One that stuck out to me was the amount of money spent on research done on Nintendo vs Education in the US last year. Even though China and India do have a much higher population, therefore better chances at a higher IQ (and all the other stats the video showed), how do we expect to compare when video games and other forms of entertainment seem to be more important?
Indeed, Shift Happens! This makes it all the more important that our schools provide programs that help children develop a sense of self. It is vital that students receive a broad education through the high school years that provides multiple transactional experiences and varied problem solving techniques. It seems these characteristics of education would best prepare students for the ever-changing world they will face.
PS - the job statistic makes me wonder what other adventures are in store for me!
